Event

On 7th November in our London office, we'll be hosting a seminar and panel discussion on the role self-care can play in allowing us to lead healthier and longer lives, and reduce the pressures on the NHS.

One of the core priorities of the ten-year plan currently being developed by the NHS and government will be the prevention of ill-health and better managing long term conditions.

The question is: how do we increase self-care? What evidence is available to suggest what works? Are there differences in what works between physical and mental health, between older and younger people, across demographic groups? And, importantly, what incentives are needed to facilitate the expansion of self-care?

In this seminar, we will discuss each of these aspects of self-care. Frontier is delighted to be joined by three eminent speakers:

  • Dr. Isabel Hodkinson: GP in Tower Hamlets (East London), Principal GP Clinical Lead at Tower Hamlets Clinical Commissioning Group and Clinical Director of the GP Care Group.
  • Poppy Jaman OBE: CEO of the City Mental Health Alliance and Ambassador of MHFA England. Poppy was awarded an OBE in recognition of her services to people with MH issues and is a NED on the board of PHE
  • Dr. Martin Wildman: Consultant in Respiratory Medicine and Adult Cystic Fibrosis, Sheffield Teaching Hospital

We recently published an article on self-care, which you can find here.
